Morning Glories

The series Lost meets the comic Runaways as described by one of its creators Nick Spencer. The art, which is beautiful is by Joe Eisma and is published by Image. Six new students are enrolled in a prestigious high school. The serious Jun, the opportunist Ike, the strong Casey, the goodhearted Hunter, the goal oriented Zoe and the strange Jade. Those individuals are strange and past the stereotypes they represent, all of them have something very unique. The school has its own agenda which includes ( near ) death experiences, an occult club, some magic and a weird cone. The comic is ongoing and there are 15 issues. I liked it and it intrigued me. The art is awesome and it has some nice pop culture references. The only problem is that the creators have raised the bar too high. Meaning that every issue instead of answering questions just brings up more. So when the whole thing is revealed, it has to be at least genius. We all remember what happened to Lost. At the end is was just a big disappointment.  I hope in Morning Glories this will not be the case and I am looking forward to reading every issue. 7/10
